ProSpray Basecoat Blender 1L - R-6028-2

The ProSpray R-6028 Basecoat Blender is a ready-to-use additive formulated to facilitate seamless blending of solvent-based basecoats in automotive refinishing. It creates a wet bed that allows metallic and effect particles to disperse naturally, preventing issues like the "grey edge on side angle" or halo effect. 

Key Features:

• Enhances Blending: Provides a smooth transition between the repaired area and existing paintwork by creating a wet bed for the basecoat.

• Prevents Halo Effect: Ensures even distribution of metallic and effect particles, reducing the risk of visible edges or color discrepancies.

Application Guidelines:

1. Surface Preparation: Sand adjacent non-primed areas with P1200 grit abrasive or an ultra-fine scuff pad and sanding paste. Clean the entire area with W820 Antistatic Degreaser and wipe dry thoroughly. 

2. Apply Basecoat Blender: Apply one coat of R-6028 Basecoat Blender to the prepared area and allow it to flash for 2–5 minutes.

3. Apply Basecoat: Apply the basecoat to the repaired area until full opacity is achieved.

4. Blend Edges: Mix one part R-6028 Basecoat Blender with one part basecoat color. Using reduced air pressure (1 bar / 15 psi), fade out the surrounding area with this mixture to achieve a seamless transition. Allow it to flash off for 5–10 minutes. 

5. Apply Clear Coat: Finish by applying the appropriate ProSpray clear coat as directed.

Safety Precautions:

• Use personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, masks, and eye protection, to prevent exposure to fumes and skin contact.

• Ensure adequate ventilation in the workspace to disperse potentially harmful vapors.

• Store the product in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
